reached within a 10-20 minute drive.

location offers much for families with children. Nearby Lydgate
Park offers a lava rock lagoon excellent for swimming and
snorkling for ages from 1 to 100. Lydgate Park also offers
the shade of large trees for playing Frisby on the grass.
A large play area highlighted by a wooden volcano will entertain
the kids for hours. Also “Baby beach” is just
few steps north of the Hale Niulani Beach property and is
one of the safest swimming beaches on the island for small
children.
The Hale
Niulani beach front property is an easy drive or short 5-10
minute walk to a wide variety of restaurants including Pacific
Rim, Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, Korean, Japanese, Mexican,
Thai and fast food. Also close by are fantastic shopping opportunities
including the Coconut Marketplace (the islands largest shopping
center), a 24 hour Safeway, Longs Drugs, video stores and
more. Each Wednesday afternoon is the Kapa’a Farmer’s
Market in Old Kapa’a town with a wonderful selection
of island grown produce, flowers and tropical fruit. Kapa’a
is host to the Kauai Arts and Crafts Fair on the north end
of town, where Thursday through Sunday local artisans display
their work including jewelry, nature photography, island style
clothing, painting, pottery and native Hawaiian wood carvings
and more.
